Founder and Graphic Designer at Studio Horizons
May 1, 2025 - Present
I founded and led an independent design studio where ideas turned into bold visual identities across brand, digital, and print. From concept to launch, I wore every hat - creative direction, production, timelines, budgets, and client collaboration, bringing projects to life with energy and intention. My focus was to craft design that not only looks good but works hard, communicating messages with clarity, persuasion, and purpose. Projects ranged from launching new products to partnering with mission-driven organisations and guiding start-ups as they carved out their space in the world.

    uniE621 Sleepy Owl Boutique Stays
The Sleepy Owl is a collection of boutique luxury tree house stays nestled in the heart of Devon. Designed for those seeking rest, reconnection, or celebration, the experience is deeply rooted in nature and elevated by comfort. In collaboration with Altum Media on brand strategy, I was brought on to craft a visual identity and website that captured the spirit of escape, tranquillity, and memorable moments. To help the brand stand out in a growing market, we developed a distinctive identity that reflects their personality and values. Bold typography, a modern yet organic colour palette, and playful illustrations come together to tell a cohesive story and position the Sleepy Owl as a truly unique destination in the world of boutique stays.
    uniE621 Bedford Hotel
The Bedford Hotel is a Regency-style retreat on Sidmouth’s seafront, offering 40 individually designed en-suite rooms with sweeping views across Lyme Bay. Set within a Grade II listed Victorian building, the hotel features a sea-view lounge bar, on-site dining with locally sourced produce, and direct access to scenic coastal walks along the Jurassic Coast. I led a brand evolution for The Bedford Hotel, refining the existing logo to align with the hotel’s recent renovation and elevated guest experience. The refreshed design features a sophisticated colour palette inspired by the natural tones of the surrounding coastline, complemented by refined typography that reflects the hotel’s high-end, luxurious character. Subtle yet distinctive visual elements nod to the hotel’s unique seafront location and architectural features—most notably its crenellations—creating a logo that feels both timeless and deeply rooted in place.
    uniE621 Eat at Millside
Eat at Millside is a warm, welcoming hideaway tucked in Lyme Regis’s artisan quarter, where the charm of the historic Town Mill and the gentle flow of the River Lym set the scene for relaxed, memorable dining. Known for its attentive service and relaxed atmosphere, Eat at Millside is a celebrated gem in Lyme Regis’s culinary scene. I was commissioned to design a website that seamlessly reflects the restaurant’s brand whilst balancing elegance with usability. The final site features intuitive navigation, high-quality imagery, and carefully curated content, all optimised for both user experience and SEO. This ensures the site not only looks great and functions smoothly, but also performs well in search engines, making it easier for potential customers to discover the restaurant online.
    uniE621 Quirky Mics, The Plug
From the creators of the world’s first electronic harmonica, The Plug is a ground breaking, new-to-market miking system for Cajon and kick drums. Engineered to reduce feedback and allow for quick, hassle-free installation, it redefines on-stage sound quality and convenience. I worked closely with Richard Smith to develop the brand identity for Quirky Mics, the new parent company behind the product. This included designing the visual identity, product branding, and packaging for The Plug. Our goal was to create a modern, confident, and professional look that reflects the innovation behind the product and gives Richard a strong foundation to begin marketing as he brings The Plug to market.
    uniE621 Jurassic Taxis
Jurassic Taxis is a taxi service operating across the Lyme Regis and Dorset region, offering reliable airport transfers, event transport, and scenic sightseeing trips along the Jurassic Coast. The website includes responsive site design, SEO optimised content and curated high-quality imagery to help showcase their services, highlight trust-building features (like reviews and customer-first service), and boost online visibility for both local and tourist bookings.
    uniE621 The Shoal
The Shoal is a family-run venture that brings the charm of the Mediterranean to the UK, offering vibrant, hand crafted ceramic marine art made by skilled Sicilian artisans. With colourful fish and sea creatures at its heart, the brand blends coastal inspiration with authentic craftsmanship—serving customers online, at festivals, and through bespoke installations. For this logo design, I drew on the intricate beauty of traditional Sicilian mosaic art to craft a bold and expressive visual identity. A lively palette of curated colour combinations adds vibrancy and flexibility, allowing the brand to shine across packaging, promotions, and digital platforms.
    uniE621 Operation S.A.F.E
Operation S.A.F.E is an upcoming wildlife conservation initiative currently working toward charity status. Focused on protecting endangered African species, it will soon launch efforts in anti-poaching, habitat restoration, community engagement, and education to safeguard wildlife and their habitats. We were brought on board to establish an identity and online presence that reflect their values and position them within the wildlife conservation sector.
    uniE621 Ship Inn
The Ship Inn is a characterful pub in Lyme Regis’s historic Old Mill Quarter, blending nautical charm with modern comfort. I collaborate with their team to create a visuals that captured their warm, community-focused atmosphere—celebrating local heritage, seasonal food, craft drinks, and lively entertainment. My work included design support across printed and digital materials to promote their evolving menu, artisan cocktails, weekend live music, and signature events such as their annual music festival, Ship Fest, and monthly jazz club.
