Hi :) I’m Su, a Berlin-based 2D animator and illustrator with a background in engineering and art research.
I have been working with Deta, a Berlin-based company, to create hand-drawn animations and website illustrations inspired by Studio Ghibli for the marketing of their products. I have also collaborated with Gibbon Slacklines, a Stuttgart-based sports company, to create website illustrations for the marketing of holiday deals.
My personal style is character driven with a cartoon-like visual style due to my interest for animation. However, I like to also experiment and adapt my style to the task at hand. I love creating characters and new worlds through my drawings. Whether through animations, illustrations, I aim to tell stories that are as visually engaging as they are thought-provoking.

PythonAI Fortune Teller is an animated character I created for a collaborative university project of the same name. Divina is a character I created for a personal project, involving a colouring book called "Land of Abnormalities". She is the queen of the land that lives in the sea with an authoritarian ruling system. She is confident, self-involved but keeps the land in order.
Deta is a Berlin-based start-up, currently developing an AI-integrated web browser Deta Surf. I collaborated with them to create their product launch video in form of an hand-drawn animation, inspired by the soft Studio Ghibli aesthetic deviating from the typical tech-centric visuals. The animation follows Zoe, a curious and playful child reminiscing her first encounter with the web, the fast developments that followed, towards a re-exploration through Deta Surf, a new approach to the browsing experience.
I worked on developing four distinct character designs for the website to visually represent the browser’s key features. The concepts are inspired by Studio Ghibli’s magical aesthetic, with a focus on creating approachable, symbolic, and playful representations of the browser’s AI-powered functionality, rather than overtly tech-focused.
A character holding a magical prism is designed to symbolize the function of asking AI questions based on highlighted text, images, or elements on a webpage. When the prism is used, it reveals abstract spirits and visions, representing the ability to see beyond the surface and gain more understanding through the AI chat functionality. photo graphicdesigner illustrator designer webdesigner branding
The panda character doubles as the symbol for saving and categorizing bookmarks and finding them later. The panda's four arms allow it to sort through drawers quickly and efficiently, symbolising organizational capabilities of the bookmark function of the browser, as well as the ability to filter answers in the saved bookmarks through the use of AI. A wise, spiritual elephant character serves as the AI assistant, communicating with the boy through a playful medium: paper cups connected by string. The elephant represents wisdom and emotional intelligence, while the use of paper cups makes the interaction more human, fun, and non-techy. To represent the function of the browser to save and categorize bookmarks, a multi-functional magical bag with a mini panda helper living inside of it is created. Bag is chosen since it is a storage way that one can carry around anywhere they like and have everything under their arm when needed, inline with the philosophy of the bookmark functionality. Inspired by the iconic Men in Black poster, I featured the Gibbon mascot alongside a second character to promote inclusivity and diversity in representation. For the Christmas-theme, a warm, family-oriented scene featuring a mother, father, daughter, and the Gibbon mascot decorating a Christmas tree together is depicted. The goal was to convey the idea that Gibbon Slacklines is a wholesome gift for family gatherings. The family from the Christmas illustration is showcased celebrating Easter for consistent storytelling. Vibrant spring colors are chosen including Gibbon's brand palette, to signify renewal and joy.
