Medieval Town

I created this scene based on the amazing concept piece by Vincent Lau - Medieval Town
This project was created in Unreal Engine 5.4
The goal of this project was to fully embrace modularity when creating a scene. This was a great opportunity for me to try out mesh displacement tools in Unreal Engine because of the abundance of brick-like materials which produce great results when displaced. Considering displacement adds an immense amount of geometry to the scene, I used Nanite to reduce the polygon count to a more reasonable amount. For Global Illumination I used Lumen. Most of the assets in the scene were created by me. From start to finish, the software I used in creating this project were: Blender, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, SpeedTree, ZBrush, Marmoset Toolbag and RizomUV. The towers, the grass, the trees and some props were imported from asset packs/megascans.
The assets were rendered in the main scene in UE with adjusted lighting strenght. The materials were rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.
This project was made with the help from a tutorial made by Emiel Sleegers from FastTrack Tutorials.
