I created this grand scene based on the incredible concept piece by Luis Medina - The City of Immortals:

ArtworkThe City of Immortalsby Luis Medina

This project was created in Unreal Engine 5.3
My main focus was creating a strong focal point at the largest Panthenon-like building in the middle of the scene combined with an impression of a very bright, sunny day. Most of the scene was made by me. Specifically for this project I wanted to go deeper into some sculpting and baking techniques for the required trims and ornaments present in the scene, as well as some light terrain sculpting. To achieve my goals I used Blender, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, ZBrush, Marmoset Toolbag and Photoshop. The cliffs, the grass, the trees and the statues were imported from asset packs/megascans.
The assets were rendered in the main scene in UE with adjusted lighting strenght. The materials were rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.
In this project I didn’t use Nanite, instead I relied on UEs automatic LOD generation with some tweaks for screen % visibility. For Global Illumination I used Lumen.
This project was made with the help from a tutorial made by Emiel Sleegers from FastTrack Tutorials.
