    paper Cartoony Art Samples
Here are samples from various cartoony and expressive line art from projects over the years. illustrator
    paper NMFMA Isometric Map Art
I was hired by the New Mexico Farmers' Marketing Association to create a series of illustrations showing the do's and don'ts of various safety and hygiene practices on a farm. I suggested the illustrations be done as maps in isometric projection, where we can create and modify the different elements as needed for each subject. Isometric projection is used in wide-ranging applications, from video games to technical illustrations, for its simplicity in conveying detail and its modular nature. illustrator graphicdesigner
    uniE621 Technical Illustration projects, General
I've done a lot of technical illustration work in my career -- both as strict technical illustration for instructional diagrams and patent applications, and informally, creating easy-to-understand illustrations that use elements of technical illustration mixed with a more editorial angle.
    paper Comics, General
I'm an experienced comics artist. I was the artist on Neil Gaiman's Mr. Hero for Tekno*Comix back in the '90s. I created, wrote and drew Jazz Age Chronicles, which was a comic in the 90s and a webcomic in the early 2000s. I also drew Savage, a four-issue horror-western from Caliber Press, and I drew the (Little Orphan) Annie newspaper strip, daily and Sunday, from 2004 til 2010. illustrator
    paper Storyboards General
I’ve been a storyboard artist for nearly twenty years, working on such major film and TV productions as Terminator Salvation, Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul, Hell or High Water, the animated/live action film Coyote Vs Acme, and the Netflix series Daybreak. Michael Patrick Jann, the director with whom I worked on several episodes of Daybreak, said this about my work: “Ted's work is fantastic. He understands and executes visual concepts with intuitive grace, and he's fast. He's a guy you want on your team. I can't recommend him highly enough.” illustrator resume
uniE621 Art of Manliness Illustrated Instructional Guides
In August 2011 I teamed up with Brett and Kate McKay of artofmanliness.com on a series of informative and humorous visual guides. That relationship is still going strong and has spawned a book from Little, Brown Publishing.
    uniE621 Camping Fluxx illustrations
Earlier in 2023 I got to illustrate the keepers (and creepers) for Camping Fluxx, the latest Fluxx variation from Looney Labs! Working for one of my favorite game companies was a privilege and a thrill!
uniE621 (Little Orphan) Annie comic strip
I took over the artwork on Annie, the popular and long-running comic strip that ran in American newspapers nationwide for over 80 years, in May of 2004. I drew all the strips, daily and Sunday, until it was canceled in June of 2010. I worked with tight deadlines and got the work in on time every time.
uniE621 Outer Range Season 1 Storyboards
I got to create storyboards for every episode of season 1 of this quirky series, and all virtually, through Zoom, text and emails. This was also the first storyboard project I drew completely digitally, with my new iPad drawing tablet!
    paper Breaking Bad storyboards
I had the honor of working with the gifted team on Breaking Bad for several episodes creating storyboards, and was further rewarded by being asked back repeatedly for storyboards for Better Call Saul. storyboards illustrator
