My name is Theodoros Sideris, and I am a Freelancer Translator/Editor/Proofreader/Copy Writer/Subtitler/Interpreter. I have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, and a Master of Science (MSc) at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Patras, in the field of Cosmetics. For the last almost 6 years, I work as a professional translator of scientific texts (Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals, Biology, Medicine, Engineering, Industry, and Software), in particular international patent applications published under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), as well as in the Bulletin of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation. The languages I translate from and into are English, Italian, and Greek. In the field of Patents, I have collaborated with the University of Patras, the University of Crete, the Diophantus Institute of Technology and Computer Publications (ITYE), and the CERTH (Centre for Research and Technology Hellas). In addition, I have extensive experience in translating medical subjects (chemical formulae, clinical trials, consent documents, manuals, instructions, medical reports, etc.) into English-Italian-Greek language pairs. I also work occasionally as an interpreter. Besides Medical, I have experience in translating technical texts (Mechanical, Engineering, Manuals for instruments and devices, Software, Industrial, and Gaming), but also in other fields such as Marketing, Commerce, and Business. Finally, I have over eighteen (18) years of (unofficial) experience as a Mentor/Proofreader/Editor in undergraduate and postgraduate theses.
