I am a strategic academic leader and applied research practitioner with over 15 years of cross-disciplinary work in business education, economic development, and transformation. I recently completed my tenure as Academic Head of Economics and Marketing at James Cook University (2014–2019, 2022–2025) and I currently lead the Centre for International Trade and Business in Asia (CITBA), guiding research strategy, curriculum innovation, and cross-campus collaboration.
I have secured and delivered over $1.4 million in funded research and consultancy, with a strong focus on sustainability, regional development, and resilience across climate, energy, tourism, and health. My work models dynamic interactions among economic, environmental, and social systems, aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
