I am a theatre artist-scholar and educator with a PhD in Theatre Studies at LSU, with an MA from the University of Chicago and a BA from Texas A&M University. My scholarship centers performance studies, historiography, and Womanist/Feminist Theory, with a focus on Black women’s dramatic praxis and the ways performance can function as research. I am developing a form of playwriting that blends scholarship with performance to contextualize Black womanhood in higher education and beyond. Beyond the academy, I create and perform original pieces, mentor emerging artist-scholars, and share my work through guest lectures, residencies, and community engagements.
