Senior Instructional Designer with six years of experience designing learning across private and public sectors. I've built for audiences ranging from a handful of specialists to a 50,000-learner global program, using eLearning, live training, webinars, train-the-trainer, and custom tools. My specialty is scenario-based learning. Most workplace training fails not because people don't know the right answer, but because they can't perform it under pressure. Scenarios put learners in that moment and allow them to build skills in a practical and meaningful way. I build branching scenarios in Storyline and Rise, extend both with custom JavaScript and xAPI tracking, and animate in Vyond. Every client and project is different, so I embed consultation and reviews throughout my design process. You will have the opportunity to shape the final product every step of the way. My expertise will mean that you end up with a learning solution that actually changes behaviours on the job. My training: - Starts with the behaviour rather than the content for actionable outcomes. - Considers measures of success, evaluation, and reporting from the start. - Always meets accessibility standards of WCAG 2.2 AA. - Accounts for the change people are being asked to make, not just the task. - Works within the real constraints of budget, timeline, and client's availability.

Making the most of your one-on-one meetings

The title page of an eLearning module Making the most of your one-on-one meetings

    Overview
A scenario-based eLearning module built around a hypothetical brief: An organisation-wide culture survey found that employees didn’t feel heard by their direct managers, and one-on-ones surfaced as the obvious pressure point.

This module takes a practical approach to training by allowing managers to practise their one-on-one meetings while targeting the key skills for capability uplift. It’s built in Storyline, with Vyond animation and custom graphics carrying the scenario work.

    Live demo available at taylahpech.com

    How I built it

    • Started from the survey finding, then narrowed a broad “employees don’t feel heard” problem down to a single behaviour set through hypothetical stakeholder discussions: how managers run one-on-ones.
    • Used action mapping to identify the specific actions a manager needs to take to run an effective one-on-one.
    • Derived the learning objectives directly from that action analysis, so every objective maps to an observable behaviour.
    • Authored in Articulate Storyline 360 with animations built in Vyond using custom graphics.
    • Published as a self-hosted web build, so it opens directly with no LMS or login required.
    Introduction to inclusive practice

An eLearning module built in Articulate Rise

    Overview
An eLearning module built at ACECQA to lift educator capability on inclusion in early childhood education and care, as part of a program commissioned by the Australian Government. It’s designed for a sector that’s time-poor and varies widely in prior knowledge. The module gives every learner a shared foundation then directs them to resources based on their own self-rated confidence. It had over 5,000 views in 6 months and holds an average end-of-module rating of 4.8 stars.

    How I built it

    • Ran an extended consultation across all stakeholder groups to define audience, capability gaps, purpose, and goals.
    • Used regular SME check-ins to keep the wider stakeholder group across progress.
    • Worked through a staged build: storyboard outline, visual prototype, review and feedback, redraft, then wider approval.
    • Authored in Articulate Rise 360, with a custom JavaScript blocks throughout.
    • Added a resource directory block that gave learners tailored resource recommendations based on their self-rated confidence across six inclusion capability skills.
    • In the pilot version, I sent those confidence ratings to a learning record store as xAPI statements, giving the project real data on which concepts learners found hardest rather than assumptions about them.
    • Tracked completion and engagement data and embedded targeted surveys, so the module’s performance could be measured against something more useful than completion counts.
