The brief was to document Shooting Galleries’ preparation for a major performance, offering an authentic behind-the-scenes look at their creative process, energy, and build-up to the big night. I focused on capturing the band’s journey in an organic and intimate way. Starting with rehearsals, I filmed candid moments that revealed the band’s personality, dedication, and dynamic. By mixing handheld shots for energy with steady visuals to build anticipation, I aimed to tell a cohesive story that feels both personal and cinematic. The result is a documentary that pulls viewers into the band’s world, showcasing their hard work, passion, and the excitement of stepping onto a big stage. She wanted to preserve the magic of the session in a legendary space—Studio 2, famous for The Beatles’ recording sessions. I approached the shoot as discreetly as possible, blending in with the band to authentically capture the atmosphere of the moment. In post-production, I refined the visuals to create an organic, cinematic feel that truly reflected the behind-the-scenes experience. We approached every artist with curiosity, ensuring that each conversation felt as spontaneous and authentic as possible. Additionally, we recorded live performances, creating a well-rounded portrayal of each musician’s story. The series was highly acclaimed by both the artists and their fans, with many people surprised at how we were able to uncover fresh, untold stories from their idols.
