If your story isn’t reading clearly—if the pacing feels off, the characters aren’t landing, or the visuals aren’t carrying the narrative—I solve that.
My name is Todd Van Linda, and I am a freelance narrative illustrator and comic artist based in West Palm Beach, Florida. I have been drawing in pencil and pen & ink since childhood, and have worked full-time as a freelance artist since 2010.
At its core, my work is about storytelling. Whether through a single image, a sequence of panels, or long-form visual narratives, I create imagery that communicates clearly, carries emotion, and guides the viewer through a story. Illustration, for me, is problem-solving in service of narrative—every image has a purpose, every element supports the whole.
While my experience spans a wide range of industries and styles, the constant has always been character, structure, and visual communication. My work includes:
Comic and sequential art
Web comics and episodic storytelling
Storyboarding and visual development
Cover, splash, and interior illustration for books and magazines
Tabletop and RPG art and design
Campaign visuals and narrative-driven promotional work
I have also supported technical and large-scale visual projects, bringing the same focus on clarity, structure, and readability—whether the goal is storytelling, communication, or both.
My foundation is in traditional pencil and pen & ink, which continues to inform my line work and composition. I work daily in Photoshop, where digital painting and compositing allow me to refine and complete work to a professional, production-ready standard.
Exploring multiple styles while maintaining consistent character intent and narrative clarity is central to what I do.

A book of children’s poems from a previous client - I was given but a few basic guidelines, and the rest was left up to me. All of the images started with pencil on Bristol Board, and what color digitally.
