I spent around 41 years with the BBC News and Current Affairs department, starting as a studio lighting electrician, progressing to sound recordist, then picture editor, and finally becoming a cameraman in 1990. Over the years I have trained countless staff in camera and editing skills, both at home and abroad. I covered immediate and long-term stories in diverse locations, from people’s homes to schools, hospitals, factories, and palaces. My work has earned an RTS award for a documentary and recognition for a film I shot and edited in Wandsworth Prison.\n\nI thrive on tight deadlines, can lead a team or work independently, and have travelled extensively, encountering a wide range of situations. I have trained people with different abilities and consistently received positive feedback for my enthusiasm and reliability. I understand the need for flexibility, including unsociable hours, and am eager to contribute to your team and develop new skills.

    paper Wandsworth Prison. https://youtu.be/hjb-eLUxT94?si=FEA37Ktkj0Ztzi2o

One of the hardest films I have made.
We were given open access to Wandsworth prison for 7 days, totally fly on the wall I kept kit to a minimum, a DSR 500 camera and 4 radio mics for all the prison footage for the Prison warden interview, I used a black cloth to keep it neutral basic 3 point lighting and the DSR 500 camera.

Our hard work paid off the two awards one being an RTS for News story of the year.

    paper Angela Merkel. https://youtu.be/nGps55SC1ck?si=mcxr2DXRfrnDvCX5

I was the Director of Photography on this multi camera shoot in Berlin.
The set up was 7 cameras 6 x Sony A7Siii and and FX6 for the wide shot lighting was kept to a minimal, we had an overhead lantern two back lights 2 practical lights and a practical in the fireplace, the window was heavily ND’d.

    paper Philip Schofield Interview. https://youtu.be/4qsnyRy-x-M?si=gPPZHnerQPvOEGVn

Interview with Philip Schofield about his demise.

We used 5 cameras of the interview which were all Sony A7Siii and a combination of lenses.
I was incontrol of the lighting the main lighting was an overhung lantern and two dado’s to bring up the back ground, our set up time in the hotel room was less than an hour

    paper Sting Interview https://youtu.be/PWFzrb3i6ho?si=BJADSZUCNXqf73AW

Multi camera interview with Sting talking about his past and new concert.
With and assistant we used 3 Z280 cameras, lighting was complicated due to the room size but was achieved with a lantern 3 soft boxes and 4 dado lights.
