I worked with a client to create the cover art for an upcoming podcast series. The style was playful, colorful and cartoony, similar to educational kids or young adult series. I designed the main character and two cats based on provided reference photos, laid out and hand-painted the text, and after a few quick rounds of revisions, this was the final product.
I illustrated this classic scene from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, and added a little bit of motion to it; just some camera moves, parallax, and dust particles. This was part of the annual Inktober art challenge, where artists make a piece of art based on a prompt word for each day of the month. The word for the day was "relic" and this is the first thing that came to mind.
This was a personal project where I wanted to combine my skills as an illustrator, animator and motion designer into one piece. I had seen the beautiful "painted ladies" houses in San Francisco and decided to create a scene that felt alive, like a snapshot of a few seconds on a street in San Fran. I animated the characters in Procreate and Procreate dreams, drew most of the scene in Procreate and a little bit in Photoshop, then animated everything in After Effects.
This video reel includes illustrations that I completed for an educational animated series as well as motion graphics and branding for media projects of the same organization. Some pieces that I'm the proudest of include hand-drawn animations of bats and whales echolocating, and colorful cartoons for an animated children's series. Back in 2020 I completed this project, which was part of a series of 4 seasonal posters for a model train company. I worked with the client to create a flat style, I provided options for the poster composition and I illustrated the entire scene with a high level of detail. This included a few rounds of a revisions from the Art Director. Although my style has changed and my work has developed since then, I still look back fondly on this project and the way it turned out!
I did the motion graphics and sound design for this 30-second video titled "Be the Ice Sculptor". The assets were designed by the studio Ordinary Folk. Designed motion graphics assets, including lower thirds and animated elements, working within the unique parameters of translation into 1,000+ languages.
