The work with Backcountry.com extended to several areas. The first and most important one was the maintenance of their sites for high profile athletes, of which they had over a dozen. Each site’s work included the setup of a custom programmed CMS backed instance for the athlete to use, which used a proprietary product from them that provided context to the several blogs that needed maintenance, and custom programming to enhance the user experience for shopping purposes on their network.

Project consisted of the separation and migration of RealCyclist.com from a previously crated base that was sitting atop a Java framework product, to a base that was a one page e-commerce frontend sitting atop a Java based backend. Used my frontend expertise to help migrate the product, test in different browsers, and help get the mobile first aspects of the product integrated successfully for all target platform.

For 3 years before being bought by Level 9 Sports, Bikewagon.com became a force for the purchase and re-sale of outdoor gear, primarily mountain bike oriented products and accessories. They managed to amass a great deal of followers in the field, and worked with an inventory of thousands of products.

The interaction with the AVI-ON IoT group started some years ago, when we were approached to assist them with an e-commerce platform build for their product line. The purpose of the same was to have a means by which users could purchase their IoT products, and have a way to provide order and account support for the same.

Magento was decided upon as the technology stack at the time, with AWS hosted infrastructure as a base.

The project was a collaboration between multiple engineers to build the framework for an Agritech IoT product. There were multiple pieces of hardware that got build, namely sensors for ground humidity, luminosity sensors, temperature and relative pressure sensors as well. We also built a LoRaWAN Gateway to tie these all together, that was using either a WiFi, Ethernet, Cellular or Satellite backhaul in order to provide connectivity for the data.
