Carina Henriksson The Performing Artist, Director, Dramaturge, and Activist Carina Henriksson is a passionate multidisciplinary artist, boundary-defying singer, cultural entrepreneur, and activist who—with unwavering energy and visionary strength—paves the way for Tornedalian and Sámi culture on both national and international stages. As founder, CEO, and Artistic Director of Opera Vildmark, and the initiator of the Arctic Artist project, Carina has created unique platforms for storytelling and cultural expression. She also founded GlesbygdsDivan and previously served as Artistic Director of Tornedalsteatern. Rooted in her dual minority identity as both Tornedalian and Sámi, Carina creates from within the cultures she represents. The joy and struggle of living in this in-between space, as well as the sorrow over growing polarization between language and ethnic groups, are explored in her upcoming song cycle “Sekarotu – Mixed Breed – Segakmáddo.” Carina Henriksson is a vital role model and enabler. Her lectures and artistic practice build bridges between people and cultures, combining artistic excellence with a powerful commitment to cultural justice, diversity, and human connection.
