About
Hello! My name is Yue Yu. I am a visual designer and illustrator originally from China, currently based in the United States. My professional background spans illustration and graphic design, with a deep interest in brand design, editorial design, and culturally driven visual storytelling. I am dedicated to bridging traditional and contemporary aesthetics, using design as a medium to translate cultural symbols into modern visual language.
Full spectrum of visual design: illustration, brand design, editorial graphics, visual identity systems, concept-driven design. I focus on finding balance between restraint and expression, past and present, clarity and ambiguity in patterns, symbols, and emotional resonance. My work often explores cultural memory, identity, and how visual narratives subtly connect people across different contexts.
