Hi, I’m YUVASRI SHANMUGA ANANDHAM, an Android Developer with 2.5+ years of experience and a Master’s in Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo. I enjoy building robust Android apps using Kotlin and Java, with Jetpack Compose, Room, and Retrofit, and I’ve shipped 3+ apps on Google Play. I’m passionate about clean code, debugging, and guiding projects from design to Play Store deployment.
I’m a collaborative problem-solver who values user experience and performance. I’ve worked across UI and backend, applying MVVM/MVI/MVP patterns, RESTful APIs, and Agile practices, and I’m excited to tackle new challenges and contribute to great mobile solutions.

Designed and built a weather application that provides 7-day weather forecasts tailored to the user’s
location, delivering accurate and real-time weather updates.
Leveraged RESTful API integration with Retrofit to fetch and display weather data, including
temperature, humidity, and wind conditions etc. Adopted MVVM architecture to ensure a clear
separation of concerns, improving code maintainability and scalability.
Developed a home-chef booking Android app enabling users to hire verified chefs for daily meals and
event catering. Collaborated with a team to implement a custom quote system where chefs provide
pricing and preparation time for user approval. Users receive multiple quotations from various chefs
and select a chef based on the quote and ratings. Incorporated real-time order monitoring to
improve service dependability. The app uses model view viewmodel architecture and Retrofit for
RESTful API integration.
Created SnapShare, an Android app that makes group photo sharing effortless—without the need for
the internet. Using Bluetooth and Nearby Connections API, it enables seamless, real-time photo
synchronization between connected devices. Unlike traditional file-sharing apps, SnapShare
introduces event-based syncing, users can create shared events (e.g., Niagara Trip), and any photos
taken within that event are automatically shared across all connected devices without manual
transfers, mimicking cloud collaboration offline. Built with RoomDB, MVI, and MediaStore, it ensures
efficient event tracking, storage, and media management, while optimizing connectivity for
high-speed, lag-free transfers. Published on the Play Store (closed testing).
Developed and published a note-taking app that supports two types of notes (text notes and to-do
lists) and includes light and dark theme support for better user experience.
Built the UI using Jetpack Compose for a modern and responsive design, ensuring adaptability across
both mobile devices and tablets. Integrated Room Database and wrote SQL queries for inserting,
retrieving, and managing notes efficiently. Added sorting functionality to organize notes by creation
time and alphabetical order. Implemented Firebase Crashlytics to monitor and report app crashes,
ensuring better stability.
