I’m a documentary filmmaker and director based in Osaka, Japan, and the founder of ai move. My work centers on people — the ones pushing forward, carrying a mission, living a story that hasn’t been told yet. Through documentary and interview-driven filmmaking, I try to reach what’s invisible on the surface: the process, the doubt, the conviction.
I believe film crosses borders without needing translation. That belief has taken me across Europe as a tour companion to a concert pianist — 46 countries, one caravan — and shaped everything about how I approach a story.
■Background
I left a stable engineering career at Osaka Gas in 2016 to build ai move from zero — with a camera purchased with my severance pay and a conviction that the stories worth telling are the ones that don’t make it to the surface on their own. That instinct hasn’t changed. It drives both the client work and the self-directed films I keep making alongside it.
