My name is Alexa Turi and I am an emerging graphic and textile designer who works with bold shapes, structures, patterns, and repetition. My work can be described as distinctive, eccentric, and bold. From a young age, I have always had a love for fashion and piecing together items into something new and interesting. I learned how to sew, and I would sew clothes for myself or sew random items for others. This love of art and fashion expanded, as I would create using all different types of mediums. Gaining professional education in graphic design, entering my design career I have learned many digital skills allowing me to create graphics for businesses such as logos, business cards, flyers, and creating personal patternmaking. Having both my graphic design skills and my love for fashion, I merge them together to produce wearable/functional graphics. I am connected to the concept of moving my 2 dimensional graphic designs into the 3 dimensional realm where they can exist in the real world. Within the field of art and design, I am open to many possibilities as I am experienced across many mediums including graphic design, sewing, drawing, painting, sculpting and media.
