SnoSan Hand Sanitizer

When Covid hit the US, J&L Distilling Company pivoted to making hand sanitizer. Ethyl alcohol was scarce but founder, Seth Johnson was poised for the transition with a still capable of turning 350 gallons of what was meant to be whiskey into hand sanitizer. Nestlé donated 20,000 bottles, as packaging was impossible to obtain and with the help of the community to bottle and label, J&L donated the liquid gold to first responders and healthcare workers on the frontline.
The need was so great in the beginning, SnoSan was bottled in any container they could procure. I designed over 20 labels of various sizes got each FDA registered, so we could meet the demand. SnoSan became a loved and trusted product, preferred by hospital staff and asked for by name.
The SnoSan pivot has been featured in over 25 news articles and was awarded Denver Post’s most read stories of the year for 2020. The SnoSan brand has increased J&L’ facebook presents by 2421% in reached and 7133% in engagement and seen a 35% increased in followers on instagram.
SnoSan is available at over 30 locations across Colorado and supplied to The Denver Zoo, Triad school district, Illinois, and Downtown Boulder as well as being sold online. SnoSan also white labels for Generate life Science, CBR and Part Point.
The hand sanitizer industry has experienced rapid growth in the past 12 months. It has gone from a shortage in supply to an over supply. PPE has seen advertising restrictions on all social media platforms as well as on Google and Amazon. When July hit the competition in this space was fierce. SnoSan’s brand strategy has been to support the community by offering the highest efficacy sanitizer at the best price possible, this approach has build brand affinity with our industrial and retail clients as well as consumers. SnoSan’s product integrity has been at the core of every piece of marketing content created. J&L hopes to expand SnoSan in 2021 nationally.
