Dear Hiring Manager, I am a graphic designer originally from Australia, currently based in the Netherlands, and I am writing to express my interest in opportunities within your team. Since June 2025, I have been living and working in the Netherlands, where I have been developing my communication skills within a customer facing role while experiencing a different cultural and creative environment. This experience has strengthened my awareness of how language, tone, and context influence the way people interpret and engage with visual communication, which continues to inform my approach to design. I studied Graphic Communication Design at the University of South Australia, where the focus was on combining strategic thinking with creative exploration. My education placed strong emphasis on identity design, visual systems, and designing across both digital and physical contexts, while also encouraging experimentation and the development of a distinct creative voice. Alongside this, living abroad has expanded my perspective on design practice and exposed me to different approaches to problem solving and communication. I am particularly interested in tacit knowledge and how instinct, observation, and experience shape creative decisions. This leads me to approach design not only as problem solving, but as a way of constructing meaning and shaping how work is felt as well as understood. Through freelance work and project based briefs, I have managed the full design process from concept through to delivery. This has required me to work independently, communicate ideas clearly, and adapt outcomes based on feedback, audience, and context. I am now looking to return my international experience back into an Australian design environment and contribute to a studio that values thoughtful, concept driven design. I would value the opportunity to discuss how my experience and approach could contribute to your team. Kind regards, Allicia Capelle
