Hello, I am excited to apply for the podcast video editor position. I would like to apply for this position because I am passionate about informing viewers and telling stories through media. Currently, I work as a content producer for the Carroll County Community Media Center where I film and edit municipal and sporting events for live streaming, social media, and broadcasting. As a part of my job, I organize files into folders using their EVO shared media server as well as help new employees learn how to set up and operate equipment. I also work as a production technician for Montgomery Community Media where I assist in studio productions and Electronic News Gathering. In addition, as a freelance videographer and video editor, I have filmed and edited a variety of content, such as an industry showcase, a documentary, a trailer, and social media content. For these positions, I used post-production tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, and Photoshop. In addition, I am familiar with After Effects, Lightroom, Illustrator, and InDesign. In other jobs I gained valuable experiences in a variety of video production and post-production environments in studios and the field. I worked on the crew of short films and operated and monitored live streaming events. As a camera operator and technical director for the Chesapeake Baysox, I filmed game action and controlled live stream broadcasts of home games, and as a technician, I set-up, strike, and pack-up audio-visual equipment for meetings and conferences. I have also instructed interviewees unfamiliar with video production on how the production is done. I worked with team members and finished jobs on time to meet the needs of a range of clients, such as government agencies, community groups, and private companies. While attending Stevenson University, I worked on the sports broadcasting team where I operated cameras and graphics, directed broadcasts, captured replays, and filmed pre-game and post-game interviews. I also worked in the department video cage where I provided oversight of the facility and audio video equipment. While directing my Film and Video Production senior capstone, I developed the skills to manage projects. This included planning, scheduling, scouting locations, oversight, instructing the cast and crew, and managing the post-production to create a final product. For other narratives and documentaries, I had many roles, such as production assistant, editor, screenwriter, cinematographer, sound designer, and sound recordist. I also used editing techniques to add sound effects, music, animation, and motion graphics. More so, I learned the importance of working cooperatively in a team and effective communication to create a successful film. With my hard work and determination, I believe I am well-suited for podcast video editor role. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss details. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Andrew Rouf
