Hi, I’m Atanur Nabiyeva, a documentary filmmaker and journalist originally from Azerbaijan, currently based in Berlin. I tell human-centered stories about culture, identity, and social issues, merging directing, documentary filmmaking, and investigative reporting. I studied at Istanbul University (Radio, Television and Cinema) and completed an Erasmus exchange at Ruhr University, followed by Erasmus Mundus and Turkish state scholarships, which shaped my multidisciplinary approach to storytelling. My work spans documentary filmmaking, journalism, and festival programming. I’ve contributed to Chai Khana Media and Voice of America Azerbaijan, and I’ve served in roles at Sevil International Women’s Documentary Film Festival and Sevil Fest.
