I studied as an opera singer, receiving my masters degree in music from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. I also received a graduate certificate in vocology. I have worked as a contract musician in various capacities, in concert halls, churches and even in musical theatre, including as a chorister, music director, music arranger, accompanist, soloist, and instrumentalist. While I was at Indiana University, the school of music hired me as a research assistant to transcribe art songs in multiple keys for their voice students, which allowed me to become very comfortable with notation software.
