I’m a Leeds based freelance cinematographer, editor and colourist, open to any and all collaboration.
After graduating from Leeds Arts University’s Filmmaking course in 2023, I have worked on a range of short form content, from music videos to short films and documentaries, and have been commissioned by Leeds City Council and Arts Council England. Alongside this, I have created an excellent network of filmmakers, artists, musicians and creatives from all walks of life, always striving to herald queer and northern voices, just like myself.
As a queer trans woman in a field dominated by cisgender and heterosexual people; the communities I’ve helped to create, the collaboration I help to foster and grow are of paramount importance to me. I always aspire to be the good queer representation that I never had as a queer kid growing up in a small, conservative and rural town in Derbyshire.
I am also currently a studio holder at East Street Arts.

The Black Ribbon was created as part of A Night at the Plaza, a cabaret show exploring the queer history of Leeds’ first adult cinema. The night was curated by the ever-lovely Harry Clayton-Wright and took place at the Howard Assembly Room, formerly this notorious cinema.
In early conversations about the project, Vee suggested doing a 70s porno-inspired adaptation of The Green Ribbon. This urban legend tells the story of a woman who always wears a ribbon around her neck and refuses to take it off — not even for her husband. A few years into their marriage, frustrated by the mystery, he yanks it off…
My role on this project was as Cinematographer and trailer editor, which focussed on developing my close working relationship with the director, Edie Barnabas, to create the lighting and camerawork that emulated the seedy 1980s style that we wanted from the film.
