Hi, my name is Cassia and I am a graduate of Indiana University where I received a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Art History. I have several years of experience in the graphic design industry under my belt and throughout my career I have accumulated many skills and experiences that make me the multi-faceted designer that I am today. I have worked in the print media industry, at a marketing agency that served B2B clients, and as a freelance designer through my business Jinx Designs. From these experiences I have skills both as a team player and as a team leader. My design sensibilities are driven by my ever-present passion for art that started when I was a little kid competing in drawing contests against my sisters. This passion has evolved into transforming my artistic abilities into designs that impact the world, or just one person.

uniE621 2024 Customer Appreciation Party Invitation
I've done freelance design work for Mr. Robert Smith, a locally recognized realtor in Cincinnati, Ohio, for several years now. Each year he hosts a customer appreciation party for his clients during the month of December. For this year's invitation design, Mr. Smith requested that I lean into the weather of the season and create a card that looked "frozen". I took this in stride and illustrated gleaming icicles hanging down from the top of the card, and layered hand-drawn snowflakes to create a truly frozen, winter wonderland aesthetic. All of the illustrations were created on Procreate and artfully arranged to frame the typography of the invitation. graphicdesigner illustrator invitationdesign

I've done freelance design work for Mr. Robert Smith, a locally recognized realtor in Cincinnati, Ohio, for several years now. Each year he hosts a customer appreciation party for his clients during the month of December. For this year's invitation design, Mr. Smith requested that I stay away from a Christmas aesthetic but still take inspiration from the winter season, and use a color palette with black, gold, and silver. With this in mind, I took inspiration from the natural world during winter and hand-drew plants such as holly, evergreen tree branches, and pinecones using Procreate. I artfully arranged the hand-drawn foliage in order to frame the typography. Additionally, I honored Mr. Smith's request for a black, gold, and silver color palette but also added some pops of green, brown, and red to marry the natural aesthetic of the foliage to the glamorous colors he chose. graphicdesigner illustrator invitationdesign

Each year he hosts a customer appreciation party for his clients during the month of December. For this year's invitation design, Mr. Smith requested that I stay away from a Christmas aesthetic, but still take inspiration from the holiday season. With this in mind I utilized a color palette made up of different types of blues as well as illustrated a set of vector ornaments that I used to frame the typography in a way that allowed it to stand out. graphicdesigner illustrator invitationdesign
uniE621 Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Stewardship Folders
I collaborated with my sister and Parish Council leadership to develop the Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church’s Stewardship materials which are distributed to over 500 families each year. We worked to modernize the existing campaign, design all materials, and integrate unique annual themes/messaging while maintaining the newly established aesthetic. Stewardship collectively increased 40% during these campaigns. Materials include folders, survey cards, informational documents, banners, and a logo. The first year we worked on this project was in 2020, and every year since, we have updated the folders with new imagery/messaging to refresh the campaign. Over the course of the 5 years that we have worked on this project, the monetary value of stewardship that the church received has steadily increased per year. uniE621 100 Days of Cat Art
In my free time I decided to do a 100 day project in which I illustrated a different cat everyday for 100 days in order to strengthen my illustration skills and creativity. I use Procreate to illustrate the cats and take inspiration from my likes and interests, pop culture, timely events such as holidays, and more to determine what each cat will look like. This project is still underway and you can follow along on my art Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/byjinxdesigns/ illustrator procreate 100dayproject
uniE621 Indiana University Themester 2023 Poster
I designed this poster for the Indiana University’s 2023 Themester. Themester is a collection of classes, lectures, films, etc. that IU organizes around a specific theme for one semester. The theme for 2023 was Light & Truth (Lux et Veritas in Latin) which is the university’s motto. This was a freelance project that I was asked to participate in as a graduate of Indiana University. For my design, I wanted to focus on the words “light” and “truth” both as separate concepts and how they inform each other. I thought of the idea of enlightenment, and how learning the truth can sometimes feel like turning a light on in a dark room. I chose to represent this with color and shape. Additionally, I utilized a quote from Shakespeare and placed it at the center of the poster to explore another facet of truth. Sometimes the truth is obvious, but needs to be accepted in order for it to be realized. graphicdesigner poster illustrator
uniE621 Mock WWF Stamps & Postcards
This project was done for class during my undergrad years at Indiana University. The objective was to create a set of stamps and postcards that each feature an animal from the WWF’s endangered animal list. The stamps are meant to bring awareness to endangered animals, and feature a call to action for people to learn more about how to help the animals. I specifically chose to feature animals that live in cold climates because climate change poses an ongoing threat to them. *DISCLAIMER that the WWF is not actually affiliated with this project. This is a hypothetical campaign designed for their cause. uniE621 Jinx Design Co. Branding
This project was done for class during my undergrad years at Indiana University. The objective was to invent my own creative business and then design the branding for it. I took inspiration from one of my life goals which is to start a freelance design business with my twin sister and named the business Jinx Design Co. “Jinx” is a playful nod to our twin identities which is reflected in the double "J" from the logo on the business card that also simultaneously creates two identical, abstract faces. uniE621 Indiana University Themester 2020 Posters
This project was done for class during my undergrad years at Indiana University. The objective was to design a poster for Indiana University's 2020 Themester. Themester is a collection of classes, lectures, films, etc. that IU organizes around a theme for one semester, the theme for 2020 being democracy. Both of the posters that I designed ended up being used as actual promotional materials for the event. For my posters, I wanted to focus on the importance of an individual’s identity and voice within a democracy. I chose to use finger prints to represent this because each person’s prints are unique to themselves and show their distinctive value. uniE621 Basel Symphony Orchestra Branding
This project was done for class during my undergrad year at Indiana University and the objective was to create branding for a set of shows put on by the made up Basel Symphony Orchestra. For the logo, I paired simple, clean typography with a logo mark that references music notes on a music staff. For the posters, I listened to each piece of music and illustrated a set of lines that I felt captured the mood of the song. I utilized these illustrated elements throughout all promotional materials to keep a cohesive brand. The professor who graded this project remarked that it “is one of the strongest student submissions I’ve seen (over many years) for this project!” To see the full project visit my portfolio: https://www.twine.net/signin graphicdesigner branding logo posters
uniE621 Panegyri Greek Festival 2019 Poster
I designed this poster and additional promotional materials for the Holy Trinity St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox church’s annual summer festival which is the largest not-for-profit festival in Cincinnati. I took inspiration from ancient Greek black figure pottery for the visuals of the poster which is reflected in the color palette, the patterns, and the figures. Additionally, the church wanted to highlight this year's festival as the 45th annual occurrence so I included a 45 among the visuals. graphicdesigner poster
