Chiara Troiano

Hi!
I’m Chiara, a composer with a strong interest in mixed techniques and timbre research.

I have a Master’s Degree in Composition for Visual Media (Film Music) which ended my studies at the Conservatory of Bologna.

I wrote music for short films, documentaries, theater productions, museum tours and multimedia, mixing acoustic instruments with electronics, using a sensible approach to sonic matter.

If I had to describe my style using a word, it would be textures: gestural sounds shaped from minimalistic material, where a few notes are broken down into different elements in order to create new objects.

This approach, however, does not preclude traditional use of instruments: my classical piano education is always at the core of my work.
