‘Strings of self perception, trapped in reflection; the marionette of the mind’

Exploring Batsford Prize 2024 theme ‘gravity’, illustrated here is my submission which focuses on the mental body dysmorphia. The theme ‘Gravity’ serves as a backbone to this project: this gravitational distortion can feel as though one’s thoughts are controlled by their obsession with their appearance, similar to how a puppet is controlled by strings, which is the metaphor here. #realism #digitalart #illustration
