I'm a designer within the field of Theatre and Events Attributes I would consider to be vital within the creative sector and especially this type of role include the attention to detail, up-cycling props, budgeting and endless amounts of problem solving within space and what is already made for the job. All of which I take in my stride and will approach from a multitude of angles as I have a varied designer/ maker background which includes scenic art, canvassing, upholstery, breaking down set pieces, sculpting from chicken wire and working with foliage. I would be a complete asset to your team bringing enthusiasm, awareness and energy. I consider myself to be extremely approachable and offer a vast amount of versatility. The field has opened my eyes to a multitude of ideas design wise and has allowed me to grasp the knowledge in order to tailor/ adapt my skills to each project I undergo. My journey began initially as I was drawn to the story telling element of theatre and the cross over to the final performance from textures to landscapes to colourways. I then began to question the magic and found myself transforming into scenic artist to prop making each time understanding and adapting different paints and finishes. The essence of a new design brief, new or familiar clientele to tackle the initial problems and how this shapes the end product is where I learn the most and where I feel the most fulfilled at the end.
