With over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry as a menswear designer, I have developed a strong skill set in multi-product design, including proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator. Throughout my career, I have worked on a variety of design tasks, from creating original graphics for menswear including placement prints, branding, and all-over patterns, while also preparing print-ready artwork and supporting the overall design direction with trend research and moodboards. This has helped me develop a keen eye for detail and professionalism, skills I’m confident can be transferred to various design briefs. Beyond my technical abilities, I am enthusiastic, outgoing, and passionate about collaborating with clients to create designs that meet their needs. Work Experience

Freelance Menswear Designer at Chris Morris Design Studio - Denton, Greater Manchester
April 3, 2019 - Present
Currently, I work with Peacocks Menswear, where I design across a wide range of product categories. I’ve also created menswear designs for Dunnes Stores and collaborated with a factory in Bangladesh. I really enjoy freelancing as it offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, and take on a variety of creative projects. It gives me greater creative freedom, helps me expand my skills, and allows me to build a diverse network of clients. Freelancing also gives me the freedom to focus on my Etsy shop, where I design seamless plaid and geometric digital patterns, more of a hobby than a business, but one that keeps me creatively inspired and connected to current colour trends.
Senior Menswear Shirt / Multi-product designer at SRG Apparel PLC - Whitefield, Bury
January 7, 2010 - April 3, 2019
I was asked by SRG to join their team as a shirt designer at a time when they were looking to grow and strengthen their shirting range. Working with the Head of Design, I was responsible for designing and developing new products from initial ideas through to production. My role covered everything from researching trends and sourcing fabrics to creating prints, patterns, and technical details that suited the various brand identities. I also worked closely with the factories to refine fits and finishes, ensuring each piece met the right balance of quality, and commercial appeal. It was a really enjoyable experience, the team at SRG were great to work with, and it was rewarding to see the department grow and the product range develop during my time there.
Junior Multi-Product Wovens Designer at Whispering Smith - Manchester City Centre, Greater Manchester
September 12, 2004 - December 20, 2019
I began my design career here as a junior designer, where I learned how to create and develop original design ideas, concepts, and seasonal ranges. During this time, I gained hands-on experience in fabric sourcing, ensuring materials met design and quality requirements, and in producing detailed tech packs for production. When a shirt designer position became available, I was fortunate to be promoted into the role. As the department grew and the workload increased, I eventually took on a trainee designer to assist me, a great opportunity to share what I’d learned and to support someone starting out in their own design career.
