Christine "Chris" Perkovich

I am Christine Perkovich, an artist and educator based in DeKalb, Illinois. I design and teach standards-based art across K-8, collaborating with music and library staff on school and community projects, creating murals, sets, and visuals that support literacy and learning. My work blends art with education and storytelling, and I love helping learners of diverse backgrounds explore creativity and problem-solving.

I hold a BFA in Painting/Drawing and an MS Ed in Curriculum & Instruction from Northern Illinois University, along with ESL endorsement. My career spans K-12 teaching, adjunct college instruction in Math Methods, and community art projects, with a focus on accessible, collaborative, and interdisciplinary learning. I especially enjoy translating other people’s ideas into visual images.
