My Vision Whatever the medium, throughout my career, my vision has always been to use art and media to create an experience using the latest technologies. Whether it is creating a picture, painting, graphic design, video, movie, website, or even a sculpture, my passion is taking the idea or vision and translating that medium into a usable and tangible product. Most of what I do is translate. I translate Computer-ese into English. Three dimensions into two dimensions. Real-life images into jpegs or movie files. Abstract ideas into English articulation. Analog light and sounds into digital files. A Little History When I graduated from VCU in Fine Art – Painting & Printmaking with a minor in Photography, the Personal Computer had just hit the market. I used most of my graduation gift money to buy one of the most advanced computers I could afford at the time–A Tandy 2000 (MS-DOS with dual floppy drives.) I quickly realized that understanding computers was the necessary skill set of the future. Not long after graduating from college, a very successful uncle said to me, “TV is the way of the future.” That resonated with me, so I used the technology I knew at that time to create and develop the TV outreach program of the nationwide ministry I was a part of. As that grew, I used that knowledge and experience to mentor other TV ministries, and continued to stay current with the latest technology and trends.
