uniE621 Logo Emblem and Wordmark for a Mental Health-Related Business
FULL DISCLOSURE: The emblem is based on a stock vector image downloaded by the client prior to hiring me. This is a reworking of the original Proving What's Possible logo. Aspects were changed to make the brand mark more accurately represent the brand ethos. THE SYMBOL: A person victoriously running across a finish line perfectly captures the idea of progress, moving forward, and eventually, reaching their goal. The flying arms were redesigned in favor of a more realistic pose. All angles have been curved to adapt a friendlier countenance. The ribbon has also been curved upward to give it a more uplifting appearance. The circle surrounding and linked to the person represents the team that supports the individual, while the centered alignment of the person reflects the person-centered care philosophy of PWP Health. THE WORDMARK is a custom variation of the typeface Acumin. It was chosen specifically for its pragmatic and balanced appearance. The two curved lines on the top and bottom give the wordmark the appearance of a house, a home, a place of comfort and relief. graphicdesigner logodesigner
uniE621 Visual Brand Guidelines for PWP Health
This is a rebranding for a business that helps improve the quality of life of Medicaid members who have been diagnosed with severe mental illness. Back in 2018, I also assisted them in designing their visual identity; and this is more of a refinement of the original. In the past, the visual branding utilized stock images to convey emotion and support—but this did not resonate well with their audience. This time around, we decided to approach the project with a more neutral, vector-based design. I used colors and shapes to communicate friendliness, approachability, reliability, and professionalism. The guidelines contained the official color scheme in different color modes (RGB, CMYK, and Hex) and official typeface. It also contained instructions on how to preserve the brand mark's integrity, and some color and design guidelines.
uniE621 Logo for The Cancer Card
The Cancer Card brings a little levity to the burden of a person suffering from cancer. With physical healing being the main focus of typical cancer treatments, the patient's psychological well-being tend to be set aside. But cancer takes a tremendous toll on one's mental health-perhaps as much or even more than on one's body. The Cancer Card is a reminder that the cancer sufferer's psychological health shouldn't be taken for granted. That treatment for the body is important, but treatment for the mind should equally be prioritized. Given as a gift, The Cancer Card tells a loved one suffering from cancer that they are entitled to bouts of weariness, depression, or even rage. That they're allowed to go ahead-take advantage, and play the card. They are and will always be loved just the same. The logo embodies the brand's values and goals. The typeface used is sleek and sophisticated but still playful, friendly, and very much approachable. Rounded typefaces (or rounded shapes in general) are often associated with feelings of safety, sweet tastes, and pleasant things. The desire is to associate the brand with lightheartedness and pleasant things. branding graphicdesigner FULL DISCLOSURE: Logo is based on an existing typeface.
