I have gained a broad and varied portfolio of skills and experience from working in business and the music industry as an account manager, composer, music arranger, conductor, music tutor and performer. I have written music for Film, TV, Modern Dance and Ballet and have worked with many ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra, BalletCymru and The National Dance Company of Wales. I worked as assistant composer and music editor on the PBS documentary ‘400 Years of The Telescope’. The score was recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, London. I wrote the music score for Ballet Cymru’s modern ballet production of Beauty and The Beast which toured the UK and Italy. I was also recently selected to work with the McNicol Ballet Collective for its inaugural Compositions & Configurations creative residency, in July 2024 at DanceEast, London. Chosen from over 200 applicants, the cohort features three composers and three choreographers who were paired together to explore original music and choreographic concepts during a week-long studio residency with McNicol Ballet Collective’s professional dancers and live musicians. I recently composed the music score for a short dance & mixed media film, inspired by the stories shared by ex-service women based in the UK. This project was funded by Art Council England and National Lottery Funding. I have just finished working on the 2nd stage (R&D) of an exciting new multi-media dance project which brings together an eclectic mix of art forms and the latest AR & VR technologies. Fusing live performance and cutting-edge immersive technology, ‘GORLWYTH’ explores the themes of ‘overload’ and our inherent need to find stillness & space in a fast-paced world and will aim to explore and develop a unique immersive audience experience. Since 2007 I have also been based with Inspire Me, creating bespoke choir arrangements for The Admiral Choir, GEAviation Choir, BBC Choir, Cardiff University Choir, USW Choir and EEC Choir, and serving as account manager for three global clients including EE, Admiral Insurance and GE Aviation. I musically direct performances at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, St David’s Hall, The Motorpoint Arena, Pride Cymru, WMC, the Brangwyn Hall and The Grand Theatre. I also perform as a session musician, including accompanying Katherine Jenkins for a televised concert at the Brangwyn Hall and recording vocals for an Admiral Insurance TV advert (Abbey Road Studios). I also compose for education projects, directing live orchestral ensembles and creating backing tracks for school productions, and I teach, rehearse, direct and vocal coach productions including Annie, A Chorus Line, Cabaret, The Wizard of Oz, Merrily We Roll Along, We Will Rock You and Honk.
