Dawn DeVoe is film/television producer and aspiring writer originally from New York City who moved to Los Angeles to acquire her MFA in Producing from AFI. Prior to this Dawn attended St. Michael’s College with a degree in Psychology, minoring in Fine Arts and traveling abroad to study Cultural Anthropology in Zimbabwe. One of the short films Dawn co-wrote at AFI, DAY ONE fka 'TERP was a Live Action Short Nominee 2016 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. TIDES, another AFI short co-written by Dawn was granted the Alfred P. Sloan Award for the the accurate depiction of science in film, was a 2016 Drama Finalist for New Filmmakers of LA Film Festival and premiered at the Helsinki Film Festival. Dawn is also a published poet having three of her recent poems appear during the pandemic in the Malibu Times. Dawn has a formidable history with Paramount fka as Viacom fka MTV Networks both before and after attending AFI. She most recently worked as Executive in Charge of Production overseeing the feature film A NASHVILLE COUNTRY CHRISTMAS and television shows CRANK YANERS, REAL FRIENDS OF HOLLYWOOD and re-boot of BEHIND THE MUSIC. She also created her own shingle DeVoe Film Works, Inc. following film school for producing independent film projects. Dawn, while an artist who believes in the articulation and connection through visuals along with written word is also an feverish athlete who equally believes in kinetic expression having a deep love of her body in motion. She is both a long distance open water ocean sailor and swimmer having competed in the likes of Sydney to Hobart, Newport to Bermuda yacht races and most recently the long distance Alcatraz swim race in San Francisco.
