Writing songs? Arranging parts? Producing tracks remotely? That's my thing, be it for personal gratification, a commercial release, or a stepping stone to recording onsite in Nashville or elsewhere. My process normally goes like this: 1) No Charge: get on a zoom call to discuss goals, influences, timeline, styles, groove, feel, parts, song arrangement, scheduling, how we'll work together, etc. This is the remote equivalent of a get-to-know-each-other lunch or dinner. 2) Pre-production meeting to map out detailed plan, schedule, timeline for deliverables, external resources required, etc. 3) Record song sketches using rough tracks to find what we like and dislike, hammer out arrangement, parts, feel, etc. This step may not be necessary if keeper parts already exist. 4) Record real tracks 5) Rough mixing - take the mixes "home" and listen to then on various devices to determine what we need to change 6) Final mixing/mastering 7) Commercial Release (if desired). You can use whatever platform you like for this. I use Tunecore due to it's cost effectiveness, variety of platforms, and easy management of revenue streams ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am currently working with the artist Drew Lee (Twine connection).
