I am a hardworking and dedicated individual with over 5 years professional working experience and a Bachelors degree in design. Strong skills in design/development; I love pushing the limits and making ideas come to life. Coworkers have described me as someone who is devoted to projects from initial concept to final delivery. My current title is Designer/Developer at CBS Interactive. Most of my days are spent designing in Photoshop/Sketch/Illustrator and coding HTML/CSS/JS. I am a big fan of the Sass preprocessor and prefer to code using that instead of vanilla CSS. My work is seen by millions of people every month on the web, at tech events, and even in Times Square, which is really humbling. I started designing and teaching myself to code when I was in my teens and absolutely fell in love with it. I then decided to attend Expression College for Digital Arts where I earned my Bachelors degree in design. While attending college I started my freelance career where I worked for companies like Lux Design, the National Parks Service, and many smaller companies. Then about a year after I graduated college, CBS Interactive approached me and I have been working there ever since. A few years ago, I really wanted to make an iOS app so I began researching and teaching myself Objective-C. Shortly after, I released my first iOS app, SnapSpeed, which lets the user track their current speed, maximum speed, and also their position: latitude, longitude and altitude values. It turned out to be fairly popular in third world countries. That made me feel pretty accomplished, so I stuck with it and now have 11 apps currently being sold in the iOS App Store. More recently, I have been focusing on open source projects. I have released a few of my own open source projects which are aimed to help designers/developers. They are Sassy Swatches - a Sass color library, Blender - a Sass mixin collection, and Inflame Boilerplate, which is a grunt boilerplate that helps kickstart web projects.
