Hi! My name is Elena and I'm an illustrator, cartoonist, and designer from St. Louis, MO. I'm a huge nerd with particular interest in comics, animation, and pretty much any form of sequential art. My work primarily focuses on generating whimsy and joy, whether that be though humorous punchlines or beloved characters. I've found much of my own happiness in surrounding myself with images that spark glee, and yearn to share that experience with others through my art! I'm also deeply invested in the potential of art and design for social change, and am constantly seeking out new ways to use my practice as a platform for underrepresented stories, especially those related to women, BIPOC, and the LGBTQ+ community. I graduated from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis in May 2022 with a B.F.A. in Communication Design. Since then, I completed my first published illustrated works in the book Gus’s Tails by Daniel Davis, designed and drew a multitude of coloring book pages for a local publishing company, and continue bringing others’ ideas to life with independent commissions. Thanks for checking out my work!
