I’m a passionate performer, composer, and experienced music producer and sound engineer, fluent in modern DAWs and driven by blending analog grit with digital precision.
I strive to create memorable musical experiences by weaving emotional context into performances and recordings, collaborating with artists across jazz, R&B, and beyond, and staying curious about every musical expression.

- Repertoire Selection and Curation
The foundation of a successful recital is a balanced program. This involves choosing pieces that demonstrate technical proficiency across different eras and styles. - The Rehearsal Cycle
Once the music is selected, the focus shifts from individual practice to collaborative refinement. - Logistical Planning
A recital is as much an event as it is a performance. This involves several administrative steps: - The Final Stretch and Performance
The weeks leading up to the date involve “mock recitals” or run-throughs to build the physical and mental stamina required to play a full hour of demanding music.
Balancing the Set: A strong program often includes a mix of demanding technical pieces and more lyrical, expressive works. For jazz performers, this means selecting standards with varied tempos (ballads vs. up-tempo swing) and potentially including original compositions or arrangements.
Programming Logic: You must consider the “flow” of the performance—starting with an engaging opener, building tension in the middle, and ending with a high-energy finale.
Individual Preparation: Before the first group rehearsal, you must have your parts mastered. This includes woodshedding difficult passages and ensuring your tone and intonation are consistent.
Ensemble Coordination: Working with an accompanist or a full rhythm section requires developing a shared “clock” and learning how to communicate through musical cues. This phase is about locking in the groove and refining the transitions between solo sections.
Documentation: Drafting professional program notes that provide historical context for the music and acknowledge the mentors and peers who supported the journey.
Promotion: Designing posters and utilizing social media to ensure a strong turnout.
Stage Management: Coordinating with the venue for lighting, sound reinforcement (especially for microphones on acoustic instruments), and recording services.
On the day of the event, the focus shifts to soundchecks and mental centering. The performance itself is the moment to let the months of preparation fade into the background, allowing the music to take center stage. It serves as both a final academic requirement and a professional debut.
Hyper Fixation is a versatile musical entity that functions simultaneously as a high-energy live band, a collaborative circle of musicians, and a cutting-edge production house. The collective is defined by its intense focus on detail—hence the name—merging the raw, improvisational spirit of a live ensemble with the meticulous precision of modern studio craft. By operating at this intersection, Hyper Fixation produces a sound that is both technically sophisticated and sonically immersive, designed for both the stage and the digital stream.
The Three Pillars of Hyper Fixation
The Band: As a performing unit, Hyper Fixation delivers high-octane live experiences. The group focuses on tight grooves and intricate arrangements, bringing a modern, polished edge to every performance.
The Musicians’ Collective: Beyond a set lineup, it serves as a community of elite players. This collaborative environment fosters a constant exchange of ideas, where technical mastery meets creative experimentation across genres.
The Production House: As a collective of producers, Hyper Fixation treats the studio as an instrument. The focus here is on “Sonic Architecture”—shaping unique textures, utilizing advanced engineering, and ensuring every track has a definitive, professional identity.
My involvement in Hyper Fixation is rooted in the synergy between my work as a performer and my technical background in engineering.
Musical Direction & Saxophone: I contribute the primary melodic identity to the group. My saxophone work serves as the bridge between traditional musicianship and the collective’s modern aesthetic, providing a voice that is both expressive and technically disciplined.
Production & Engineering: I play a lead role in the “Sonic Architecture” of the collective. I oversee the translation of our live energy into the recorded medium, applying professional engineering standards to ensure our sound is cohesive, modern, and high-fidelity.
Brand & Creative Strategy: I am deeply involved in building the Hyper Fixation brand. My focus is on creating a distinct visual and sonic identity that reflects our commitment to minimalism and modern-vintage aesthetics, ensuring the collective stands out in a crowded musical landscape.
SHADES is a contemporary musical collective that blurs the lines between tradition and modern innovation. By combining the technical depth of jazz with the textures of modern production, we create a sonic environment that is both intellectually engaging and deeply rhythmic. My goal with this ensemble is to explore new musical frontiers, pushing the boundaries of genre through a collaborative spirit that emphasizes atmosphere, groove, and sophisticated harmonic structures.
My Role and Contributions
As a core member of the collective, I serve a multifaceted role that bridges the gap between live performance and studio precision. My influence is felt through three primary channels:
Lead Performance: As a saxophonist, I provide the primary melodic voice for the group. My playing is centered on exploring contemporary jazz influences, using the instrument to navigate complex improvisations while maintaining a lyrical connection with the audience.
Visionary Leadership: In my capacity as co-band leader, I am instrumental in shaping our artistic direction. I help curate the repertoire and guide our creative evolution, ensuring that every performance reflects a cohesive and forward-thinking aesthetic.
Sonic Architecture: Serving as a producer, I am responsible for the group’s “recorded identity.” I apply my technical expertise to blend our organic instrumental takes with modern audio engineering, ensuring the final output has a polished, professional sound that resonates in a digital-first landscape.
