I earned an Associate’s of Arts at Elgin Community College before transferring to Roosevelt University and earning a Bachelor’s of Arts and a Minor in Marketing. My drive is to create high quality designs as well as collaborate on high quality projects. This makes me the perfect fit for this position, as well as my experience in Marketing. My experience also helped me become skilled with using Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. I worked a Graphic Design internship for a non-design company. This was the Joint Commission in Oakbrook Terrace, which is a Healthcare company. I have created posters, brochures and infographics for real clients in communication with the company or for the company itself. I was given specific fonts and specific colors to use, as well as a specific margin size to work with. These were created in a timely matter, and I accepted critiques from other designers. Creating designs often involves communication and customer service which I’ve done many times before in previous jobs working at Jewel Osco, Bartlett Hills, and More Brewing. Sometimes customers have special requests, need extra help, or get angry. I’m able to communicate with these customers in a helpful, calm, and respectful way no matter how overwhelming it can get. I’ve also created freelance designs through Etsy, LinkedIn, or Discord. I stay in communication with clients, send them thumbnail sketches and send WIPs asking if any changes should be made. I always try to make sure the designs are exactly what the client wants. I’ve gained plenty of experience through Graphic Design courses at Roosevelt University, as well as marketing courses showing me the importance of branding and brand identity. I’ve created plenty of original designs at Roosevelt and in my own time
