Hi, I’m Toby Griffin, a remote working freelance sound engineer, designer and composer with over 30 years experience, delivering award-winning sound for global advertising agencies and post production companies. I work on commercials, promos, titles, idents, documentaries, immersive events and films across cinema, tv, radio and social media. My career began in 1995 as a runner for audio post house Zoo Studios. I was promoted to Transfer Engineer within a few months and became Junior Sound Engineer in 1997 when the company expanded and was renamed Jungle. Around this time I started composing music for commercials, promos and compilation albums. In 2000, I was promoted to a Senior Sound Engineer position. After 18 years at the company, I left to pursue a new challenge. In 2013 I joined the newly formed post production facility Gramercy Park Studios as Head of Audio, working in creative advertising with global brands on multi-media campaigns for tv, cinema, radio and social media. Expansion was rapid and over the following nine years, due to the success of the company, the audio department grew from two engineers to seven, each kitted out with home studio setups and four Dolby Atmos HE audio suites in the facility. In 2022, I became a freelance Sound Designer and Composer, based in my fully equipped home studio. I specialise in hosting remote voice recording sessions, voice direction, sound design creation, sound effects, audio restoration, foley, music editing and composition - creating stereo and immersive mixes for the cinema, broadcast and online formats. I’m a professional Pro Tools and Logic Pro user with a collaborative, detail‑driven approach and a passion for delivering outstanding sound to tight deadlines. When I’m not in the studio, I enjoy Remixing reggae tracks, DJ'ing, drumming and exploring new audio technologies.

uniE608 Red Bull - F1 Road Trip: Discovering American Car Culture - Trailer
“Through Riley’s Lens - Rebl Car Culture” dives into American Car Culture. Hollywood Stuntman and photographer Riley Harper took a road trip across Texas to discover varying forms of car culture outside the F1 circus. From drag racing under the lights with the NHRA, to learning all about Slab culture in Houston with Jay The Wrap Specialist, the thread uncovered on the journey, is that at the heart of it all is community, friendships and family. Culminating in a meeting with F1 World Champion Max Verstappen at the USGP COTA, their conversation re-enforces the theory that even at the pinnacle of motorsport, family and community and passion are key ingredients. uniE608 ASTON MARTIN / ARAMCO F1 LAUNCH: ‘Dan Fallows’
Created for the launch of the AMR24 F1 car for the 2024 season. Together with Aramco, Aston Martin’s Technical Director explains how understanding atmosphere can bring a performance advantage on track. Once the dialogue had been cleaned up, the sounddesign was created and crafted specifically for the film, using a combination of plugins to tune and sculpt them to the visuals. Pit to race comms were also added for effect. The musiccomposition was created using an arpeggiated sequencer with a cinematic string underscore, which builds and evolves throughout the film to an intense peak, before abruptly cutting to silence as the logo appears. uniE608 ORACLE RED BULL RACING / FORD PERFORMANCE - Anatomy Of A Corner - Documentary
In this documentary, automotive expert Chris Harris interviews 4 time F1 World Champion Max Verstappen on a road trip through the South of France, in the iconic Ford RS200 Group B Rally Car. On arrival at the Circuit du Grand Sambuc, Max takes Chris on some racing laps in the stunning new Ford Mustang GTD. This is a teaser for the documentary This was quite an involved audio project. 40 minutes of dialogue to cleanup - a lot of it in car, so engine noise was reduced and removed further on external shots of both cars. I sourced the engine sounds for all the external footage of the RS200 and sculpted them to match the perspective for every external shot throughout the documentary – there were only 200 of the cars ever built, and that was back in the 1980's! uniE608 NEOM - The Line
The future of urban living... The Line redefines the concept of urban development and what future cities will look like. No roads, no cars or emissions, the city will run on 100% renewable energy and 95% of the land will be preserved for nature. Creating sounddesign for this epic futuristic urban city was a fascinating and enjoyable experience. From enormous whooshes as the animation moves past huge structures, to the addition of voice announcements and futuristic vehicles passing out of shot. The film was revealed in an immersive space at an event in Saudi Arabia and was mixed in cinema 7.1 specification.
uniE608 ASOS - Summer Fashion - Outernet Now Building Takeover
In June 2025, ASOS took over the huge Outernet NOW building in London for a 2 day event, featuring DJ's and photo-booths, to showcase it's latest fashion range. For the event, creative agency Intro created an 8 minute film revealing the new ASOS summer fashion range, which was shown on massive 360º screens inside the building. I was tasked with creating a 7.1 immersive remix of one the best known Ibiza dance tracks of all time - Offshore by Chicane. Ambient soundscapes were added to represent the various scenes in the video. This is a binaural cutdown version.
uniE608 WTA WIMBLEDON 2024 – Andy Murray Tribute
Played on Centre Court to Andy Murray and beamed around the world after Andy Murray's final match at the 2024 WTA Championships. Former Champions were filmed on both sides of the Atlantic and collaborations took place with all the major grand slams, tournaments and BBC, to gather extensive archive. Extensive dialogue and comms cleanup, soundeffects and sounddesign added to heighten specific moments and music mixed to a rousing climax! There was hardly a dry eye on centre court when the film had finished playing.
uniE608 WBA HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP - Anthony Joshua Stadium Introduction 2022
This film was created as the intro for Anthony Joshua's entrance to the Jeddah stadium for his rematch title fight against Oleksandr Usyk. This impactful film highlights his rise from Olympic Gold medalist to Heavyweight World Champion and the setbacks he faced attempting to retain the title. The dialogue was cleaned up and hyper-real sounddesign and soundeffects were added throughout the film to heighten AJ's visual journey to this point in his career. CREATIVEPOOL 'PEOPLE'S CHOICE' MUSIC & SOUND AWARD 2023
    uniE608 CHANNEL 4 - F1 Titles 2024
The opening titlesequence for Channel 4's F1 season coverage during 2024. Hyperreal sounddesign and soundeffects were added to the title music soundtrack to enhance the visuals for this opening title sequence.
uniE608 WARWICK UNIVERSITY - 'Infinitely Curious'
The ‘Infinitely Curious’ campaign showcases the excellence of the research department at The University of Warwick and the visual collage style represents their multi-disciplinary approach. This advert features a universe of surreal encounters – a journey into impossible landscapes and campus architecture, passing through doorways, portals and lenses, revealing micro and macro worlds - arts and science intersecting. Musical elements were sourced from the sounds of 20th Century technology - typewriters, printers, scanners, morse code and even the first computer (LEO) - developed in the 1940's. The samples were syncopated to a simple kick and bass track to create the rhythmic bed and heavenly choir chords were added over the end titles. The music was processed through a tape reel emulator to achieve an analogue feel and further processed with vintage filter and reverb plugins. sounddesign and soundeffects were added and crafted to enhance the visual journey. CREATIVEPOOL 'PEOPLE'S CHOICE' MUSIC AND SOUND AWARD 2025
uniE608 COCA COLA AQUARIUS - Sweat Is Beautiful
This global commercial launched Coca Cola's new product 'Aquarius'. A functional water drink coupling simple hydration with essential mineral intake, to refresh body and mind. Creating the sound bed for this advert required a lot of foley recording, from scrubbing the floor in the restaurant kitchen, to dancing feet in the outdoor scene.
uniE608 GREAT LONDON AUTHORITY - Have A Word With Yourself
In this bold multi-award winning campaign for the Greater London Authority, the concept of subliminal messages of safety in women’s bathrooms was flipped and served to men via a mirror in a man's toilet, to address the sexist attitudes and inappropriate male behaviour that has led to an epidemic of misogyny and male violence against women and girls in London. Abuse is known to have an escalating pattern. It starts with ‘harmless’ words, but rarely ends there. The dialogues were all cleaned up and ambience, soundeffects and sounddesign was added. The original music for the rough cut edit consisted of 2 separate tracks and wasn't cleared for usage. I re-created the musiccomposition based on the original style for the final film.
