Known to her audiences as Esther Ling, Yun Shyuan Ling is a Malaysian-born Canadian pianist, composer, singer-songwriter and recording artist currently based in Calgary, AB, Canada. Esther’s work is sincere and exploratory in all genres. without limiting to specific genres. It promises songs that sparkle with innocence and unshaken hope; heartfelt storytelling in song, and inventive, caring music that bring the stories of people and social topics to light. Since completing a music performance diploma at the Northwestern Polytechnic (former Grande Prairie Regional College) in 2024, she has been actively writing and releasing music independently. Her debut children's song, "Cheeky Wind" (2025) is the winning song of the Annual Grande Prairie Boys Choir Songwriting Competition and her first dive into choral composition, of which was premiered by the Grande Prairie Boys Choir, receiving local acclaim for its charm and creativity. Her debut single, “Pink Walls” (2024), brought a profound message on domestic violence; it was featured on CBC Radio, CKUA Radio, 20 independent radio stations worldwide, and used by women shelter organizations in domestic violence campaigns across USA and Canada. She ​continues to write fun, modern choral songs for children to sing, and is actively working on commissioned pieces by choirs in Alberta. She is working towards recording and releasing her first EP album, and continues to develop her artistry in songwriting and composition of all genres. Besides writing music, Esther is an active performer in the community, supporting the local music scene as an accompanist. She is a solo artist with a thriving business providing live music for weddings and corporate events.
