My name is Shane Fetzner. I am an aspiring graphic designer and video editor with 1 year of professional experience and a BA in graphic design. I have developed skills in the Adobe catalog of programs with a particular focus on After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and InDesign. My focus right now is visual storytelling through editing videos and motion graphics. Working for weCreate Web Design and Marketing as both an intern and as a social media content designer allowed me to discover my passion for video editing and become proficient as a manager of social media content. During my time there I edited 25+ videos that are now uploaded on Youtube which included the development of animated graphics. Furthermore, from that content I have created 100+ shorts that were optimized for posting on social media, Youtube, and websites. I learned the importance of being detail oriented, gained experience collaborating with other designers, developers, writers, and strategists to correctly optimize content, and showed the capacity to communicate effectively to fellow team members. What made me stand out was my distinguishing characteristic of being a quick study. While I already had some prior experience with After Effects, during my jobs at weCreate I learned Premiere Pro and became proficient with After Effects to speed up my video editing workflow. I have been practicing it ever since. This ability decreased the time they needed to train me, and made me an ideal candidate for new tasks. I thoroughly believe that doing graphic design shouldn’t just be something you do only for work. My most recent venture is creating movie edits for my TikTok channel. This is a recent hobby that I have been enjoying due to learning Premiere Pro during my summer internship. Importantly, it has allowed me to practice and enhance my skill of video editing.
