I won this award for a promotion where we took a regular beer league hockey contest and turned it into a massive championship event at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. I handled pretty much everything—from designing the jerseys and the trophy to managing the logistics, safety, and the after-party for over 100 fans. The coolest part was bringing in a pro-level atmosphere; we had celebrity team managers and the actual Maple Leafs radio announcers doing play-by-play. It was even broadcast live on the radio. Afterward, I took all the footage and edited a final feature for the Sportsnet website, doing all the motion graphics and lower thirds myself to make sure it looked like a professional broadcast piece.
