Gabriella Muir is one of Australia’s most respected freelance editors, with over twenty-five years’
experience across feature films, television series, documentaries, corporate videos and music
videos. Known for her performance-driven, narrative-focused approach, she has built long-standing
creative partnerships with leading Australian directors including Kriv Stenders and Jocelyn
Moorhouse.
Her feature film career began with Kriv Stenders on the independent film Blacktown (2005), winner
of the Sydney Film Festival Audience Award. Their continued collaboration included Boxing Day
(2006), which premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival and received international recognition at
Busan and Montreal Nouveau Cinéma, and Lucky Country (2009), which earned two AFI
nominations and screened at festivals including Palm Springs, Cork, and St Tropez.
In 2010, Gabriella expanded into documentary with the AFI Award–winning You Only Live Twice,
later moving into genre work with the horror feature The Pack (2015).
Her transition into high-end television series began in 2020 as lead editor on The End, a ten-part
drama co-produced by See-Saw Films for Sky Atlantic and Fox Showcase, which aired in Australia
and the UK to critical acclaim and earned her an Australian Screen Editors Guild nomination.
More recently, Gabriella served as sole series editor on SBS’s While the Men Are Away (2023),
edited Bump Season 3, and was sole series editor on ABC and Easy Tiger’s Optics (2025), which
received rave reviews. In 2024, she edited Jocelyn Moorhouse’s feature The Fabulous Four,
starring Susan Sarandon and Bette Midler for Lionsgate and Bleecker St. This year she completes a
feature for Jasmin Tarasin titled Life Could Be a Dream that is due for release in cinemas on 14th
May.
Gabriella currently has multiple film and television projects in development.
