I’m an Architect, Educator and Environmental Manager; living in Cambridge, married with two children. As an Architect my culture is about design thinking, which is analytical and fact-based yet three-dimensional, layered, adaptive and collaborative. I understand the value of spatial attributes in creating a setting. As an Educator and Workshop Facilitator I teach and run my own agency, aiding clients’ understanding, broadening their vision and assisting their decision-making using hand-drawn diagrams, vignettes, and concepts. I understand drawing as a tool for thinking and am adept at using illustrations, diagrams, and any sort of other imagery to effectively make a point. As an Environmental Activist with a degree in Environmental Law, I am keen to shift the current conversation beyond climate change to our relationship as humans with nature. There’s a growing disconnect between people and nature as people are less exposed to experiences in nature, particularly children. This has been called the ‘extinction of experience’. I deeply believe that the understanding of the notion of a shared habitat should be an essential part of a child’s education and will inform future generations’ perception of their environment. I’m currently working on a new project, Eddy the Re-cyclist, which questions the notion of that is waste. Eddy is a boy who is handy at repairing things, using his imagination and skills to turn the inert and mundane into the purposeful and wonderful. Necessity is the mother of invention. And invention can turn seemingly useless items into extraordinary, magical, and useful ones. Eddy is the Magician of Junk!
