I am Adriano Goio Lima, a Brazilian jazz performer, arranger, composer, and educator with four decades of international experience in higher education, ensemble direction, and performance. I blend Brazilian popular music with jazz innovation to create new ensembles and fresh approaches to repertoire, and I have collaborated with artists such as Bob Mintzer, Toninho Horta, Paulo Jobim, João Donato, and Ivan Lins. In addition to performance, I engage in scholarship and program development across universities and communities. As a university professor, I teach saxophone, flute, clarinet, improvisation, and jazz studies, while building curricula, mentoring students, and directing large ensembles. My work with the Humming Bird Institute and Cerrado Popular Orchestra demonstrates my commitment to cultural engagement, inclusion, and the next generation of jazz musicians.
