I am a 1988 graduate of Pratt Institute (BFA). I’m an award winning illustrator with close to 38 years of professional experience. I work traditionally (pen and ink on paper, acrylic on canvas board, acrylic/ink on paper) and I work in a variety of styles and can handle a variety of jobs/topics. I wrote and illustrated two graphic novels, both for NBM Publishing (Vatican Hustle, 2009, and Elephant Man, 2010) and I wrote two books on illustration for The Monacelli Press/Phaedon Books (Illustration That Works, 2015, and Understanding caricature, 2021). I taught illustration for 9 years at The Maryland Institute College of Art and I’ve owned and operated my own illustration school since 2015 (the Baltimore Academy of Illustration).
