Newcastle-based producer, composer, arranger and mix engineer. I specialise in Indie/Alt genres, creating emotionally intelligent, artist-led records. With over 280 credits across indie, soul, ambient, folk and jazz, my work blends musical depth with a strong sense of storytelling and identity. I gravitate toward creating records that are not only atmospheric, emotional, and cinematic but also deeply human — I collect interesting gear and utilise the studio as an instrument to create music that is organic and crafted with a focus on personality and authenticity. I feel my work exists in the same world as producers and composers like Shawn Everett, Catherine Marks, Andrew Sarlo, Ólafur Arnalds, Ethan Johns, and Dom Monks. After studying Classical Composition, I worked as a composer - writing music for short films and production libraries before moving into production. I have also recorded and mixed films and podcasts for corporate clients, and recorded a number of BBC Radio 4 Audiodramas - including I Must Have Loved You, a musical audio-drama written by and starring Sting. I work out of and run the Whitemark-designed Blast Recording, a multi-room facility known for its balance of high-spec equipment and creative flexibility. Since beginning work there in 2017, it has become home for my music - a space that allows for deep work and experimentation with a laid-back, flexible atmosphere that encourages artists to explore without watching the clock. From developing artists’ first demos through to full-length releases, I love to take a hands-on role across arrangement, production, and mixing — drawing on a trusted network of musicians and a distinctive collection of instruments, amps and synths to craft unique, characterful sounds. I have played a major part in projects that have seen artists sign to labels like Gearbox Records and 25hr Convenience Store, with productions that have landed on BBC Introducing, national radio, editorial playlists and the UK Physical Charts. Whatever the session, my focus is always on helping artists make records that feel personal, purposeful and built to last. I am currently co-producing a new record for Carlisle-based band Hardwick Circus alongside Alan Winstanley (Madness, Dexys Midnight Runners) and have been working on projects with EMI and Generator. I'm looking to meet with new managers, labels and publishers and work on exciting projects that can further my career.
