I, Carlos Cartagena started my Pin-Up illustration career in 1990, illustrating commercial luminous signs. One year later I started illustrating leather jackets for a store on Hollywood Blvd. From 1995 to 1996 I illustrated some murals for Harley-Davidson bikes making it to the top. By the end of 1996, I had already won first place in a couple of big Harley-Davidson contests; STURGIS and LAUGHLIN making the magazine covers of Easy riders, Hot-Bike, and V-Twin. I started specializing in Pin-Up art and in 2000 my Pin-up illustrations attracted the attention of Mark Buck, a young California entrepreneur and founder of a decal company Slap-On Decals. By 2003 this company went international producing high-quality stickers for the Sports Action Industry. At that time, I started licensing some of my pin-up designs to Slap-On, and thanks to my experience with Slap-On Decals my Pin-Up designs became instantly recognizable and internationally popular in dozens of major countries around the world. From 2003 till today I have created and licensed a variety of artwork illustrations for several companies and magazines such as Playboy, Penthouse, Hooters, and other, national and international airbrush magazines usually with the Pin-Up Art theme or style.
